What to Wear to Walt Disney World
After two long years of not traveling, we packed up and headed to Walt Disney World for the first time as a family of three! JD and I have been there plenty of times together (if you haven’t gone for an adults only trip – highly recommend) and we were so excited about bringing Kennedy along this time. Historically, we enjoy visiting Walt Disney World in March, as the crowds are lower and the temperatures are more comfortable. After many trips, I have what I pack to wear down to a science. Today I am sharing What to Wear in Walt Disney World!
When it comes to packing for Walt Disney World, I focus on items that are comfortable AND functional. This is not a vacation where I choose ‘cute and stylish’ outfits. Florida is HOT and visiting theme parks means you will be doing a lot of walking. I keep all my outfits super simple for those reasons!
OUTFIT 1
We spent the first day of our trip at Animal Kingdom. This park has the most greenery and coverage from the sun. SPF is a MUST at Walt Disney World! I wore this high neck tank top from Target and my favorite high waisted mom shorts. My favorite sneakers to wear to Disney are these New Balance sneakers. I LOVE them and highly recommend them for situations where you will be walking a ton or spending the majority of the day on your feet.
For dinner we headed to Disney Springs and I changed into this simple T-Shirt dress and sandals.
OUTFIT 2
Day 2 of our trip was spent in EPCOT! EPCOT is one of my favorite parks, and we always try to schedule a trip around one of their festivals. The Flower and Garden Festival had started earlier in the week so there were several sample kitchens set up throughout the park with yummy food and drinks. EPCOT is THE LEAST covered park, I always feel like the sun is directly overhead. I wore another target tank and these mid-rise denim shorts.
I brought my belt bag (fanny pack) to every park and this was a GAME CHANGER. We had the stroller and diaper bag, but it was so nice being able to have easy access to my money, phone, and sunglasses.
OUTFIT 3
We planned two rest days during our week, and headed to the Disney boardwalk for dinner. The boardwalk is located at the Disney Boardwalk Resort and it shares the same location as the Disney Beach Club and the Disney Yacht Club resorts. Exploring other resorts on our ‘off days’ has always been a favorite activity of ours. We grabbed a drink at the AbracadaBAR and then headed to the Cape May Cafe for dinner! If you are looking for a kid friendly restaurant that also has delicious options for adults, I highly recommend the Cape May Cafe.
I again kept things super casual with my outfit and wore a stripe tee, high waisted mom shorts, and sandals.
OUTFIT 4
We rounded out our week at Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom is the quintessential Walt Disney World Theme Park. I could spend a full week doing just this park, and never tire of it. For this park, I wore a white tank top bodysuit and the same high waisted mom shorts from day 1. I also wore my belt bag and new balance sneakers. Simple, functional, and weather appropriate. Are you noticing a trend? 🙂
My outfits were pretty simple and boring, but they were FUNCTIONAL. You do not need to be a style hero at Disney World. There have been occasions when I have put a lot more effort into my outfits and have been MISERABLE because my feet hurt or my clothes were uncomfortable. My number one piece of advice is pack weather appropriate clothes and comfortable sneakers. One thing I wish I brought on this trip was a hat (but I love my Mickey Ears).
I hope this post on What to Wear to Walt Disney World was helpful. If you are traveling to Walt Disney World soon, I hope you have the most magical time. 🙂
