Second Trimester Must Haves
Today I am 25 weeks pregnant! I am well into my second trimester, and I can’t believe that it is almost over. This trimester flew by much quicker than the first, and was definitely a period of growth for me and baby M. My growing bump is no longer easy to conceal and baby is moving like crazy, which is an incredible feeling! Overall, I still feel pretty good, just some of the normal pregnancy discomforts. I thought I would share some of my second trimester must haves that have made this transition a bit easier!
My Second Trimester Must Haves
pregnancy pillow // I will be honest, some days this works better for me than others. There are certain nights when I just simply cannot get comfortable enough to sleep, but this works well most of the time. Specifically, it has worked great for the uneven heaviness I had in my pelvis that made it uncomfortable to sleep. I like that this one has a removable body pillow, which I use for reading in bed!
maeband maternity belly band // this waistband extender has been great at helping me prolong the wear of my non-maternity jeans!
heating pad // recently, I have been having pretty persistent back pain that usually gets worse after sitting for too long (a good reminder to keep moving, though!). A heating pad doesn’t cure it by any means, but it certainly helps to take the edge off.
stretch mark cream // I have been using this twice a day since early on in the first trimester. I have no idea if it works, but so far no stretch marks and the skin on my stomach doesn’t itch!
comfortable bralettes // these have been great for the entire pregnancy so far! They are seamless and don’t cut into your skin at all. I have them in several colors.
tums chewy bites // as baby has grown the past few weeks, I started experiencing reflux for the first time in my life. It sounds crazy, but I tried regular antacids, but one of you suggested the chewy tums and these have worked wonders!
spanx maternity faux leather leggings // I am SO glad I ended up investing in these. If you have been following along on instagram, you know I have been pretty anti-maternity jean. These are a great alternative to my standard black maternity leggings and an item I am hoping to keep for multiple pregnancies!
cooling PJs // many of you suggested these to me when I talked about my experience with night sweats since becoming pregnant. I ended up purchasing a couple of the cool nights pajama shirts from Soma and they are super comfortable to sleep in at night. I find that they are super lightweight and definitely feel cool to the touch, which helps if you are a hot sleeper!
My other second trimester must haves…LOTS of water, daily walks outdoors, and high protein snacks like cliff bars and greek yogurt!
