Old Navy Try On | October 2019
I get a lot of questions on how to start a capsule wardrobe from scratch, my best recommendation is always…head to Old Navy! Old Navy tends to release different items that all fall within the same color palette or pattern. This makes it super easy to find items that are interchangeable. Plus, if you are just getting started with your capsule wardrobe, I recommend starting with an affordable retailer.
I stopped into Old Navy today, spontaneously, and I am so glad I did! I found some awesome goodies to share with you! For this try on, I stuck tried to stick to a similar color palette consisting of camel, cognac, hunter green, cream, and black. I have to say I am LOVING the hunter green, and I am considering making this the accent color for my upcoming winter capsule wardrobe!

Old Navy Try On
OUTFIT #1, #2
SWEATER // I really liked this sweater in theory, but I hated the way it fit. I am wearing a size small, and it felt really tight on my arms and too big on my torso.
DENIM // This denim is crap. Do not buy this. I just needed pants to wear for this try on.
QUILTED VEST // You all know my love for Old Navy vests, I have a black one that I feature in my fall capsule wardrobe. Wearing an XS here – they are great for layering.
SCARF // This scarf is EVERYTHING. All my neutral cozy dreams came true when this scarf was made. Super warm and soft, highly recommend!
OUTFIT #3, #4
SWEATER // This is similar to the popular $100 Madewell sweater that you might be seeing on Instagram. I am wearing an XS in this, the fit is MUCH better than the previous one.
DENIM // This denim is crap. Do not buy this. I just needed pants to wear for this try on.
QUILTED VEST // You all know my love for Old Navy vests, I have a black one that I feature in my fall capsule wardrobe. Wearing an XS here – they are great for layering.
FUR LINED BOOTIE // Eh. These are okay. If you live in an area where it doesn’t snow I would recommend these. They definitely won’t stand up to NY winters.

LONG COAT // This coat is STUNNING. The color, the texture, everything. Wearing an XS regular, though I think I would prefer petite length. I honestly felt SO COOL wearing this. I’m not sure it will keep you very warm, but I love this for special occasions, church, parties, etc.

STEVIE PONTE PANT // These fit more like a legging in my opinion. They are a nice ‘dressy’ option for business casual settings. I am wearing a small.
PONTE BLAZER // I have been searching for the perfect blazer, and I finally found it! I wanted something that was more casual for work. This is a nice, soft, knit material. Although it looks structured, it feels like a sweater! Wearing a XS.

PEACOAT // Another great outwear piece. Old Navy has been killing it, in this department. I am wearing a small, but it feels a bit too large, so I would have sized down.

POLKA DOT BLOUSE // This blouse is so much prettier in person than in the photo. The material feels more high quality than I would expect for Old Navy. It is long enough the cover the booty. Wearing a small.
PONTE BLAZER // I have been searching for the perfect blazer, and I finally found it! I wanted something that was more casual for work. This is a nice, soft, knit material. Although it looks structured, it feels like a sweater! Wearing a XS.
CARDI COAT // This was a popular item last season, and it is back! I understand why everyone raved about this cardigan last year, it is great! It is pricey, but more sturdy than your typical Old Navy Cardigan. I am wearing a XS.

THERMAL PJ PANTS // I couldn’t walk by a table full of holiday PJ’s and not try any on! Wearing a small, always a fun option for the upcoming season!
