Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019
Christmas in July is back! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 countdown has begun in the Maas House. This will be my fourth year shopping the sale, and I am here to give you all the tips and tricks I have learned over the years. Last year, I covered a lot of the sale as a blogger for the first time, and I expect to do the same this year. . I basically don’t sleep during the entire month of July. Last year, I got up at 3AM for a straight week…worth it. I am going to taking a different approach this year with what I share with you all, and will be focusing on staple items that are worth the money, and deserve a place in your closet.
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Mark your calendars, ladies…here are all the dates you need to know.
- Friday, July 12, 2019 – The sale is open for early access to Nordstrom cardholders only. Shopping begins at 12:30PM EST – this is new this year, typically it starts at midnight!
- Friday, July 19, 2019 – The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open for everyone!
- Sunday August 4, 2019 – The sale ends, all items return to full price on August 5th.
What is on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the best sale because NEWLY RELEASED items for fall 2019 are on sale for 3 weeks. I use this sale to stock up on boots, denim, sweaters, and handbags. Many of the items I purchase are some of the most coveted and best quality in my closet. Expect brands like Tory Burch, Vince Camuto, Hunter, Sole Society, and Free People to be part of the sale. Many designer brands are also included, which typically never go on sale.

The best strategy for shopping the Nordstrom Sale
If you are new to shopping the Nordstrom sale, this section is for you. If you have a Nordstrom location near you, be advised that it will be worse than Black Friday there. The best way to shop is online, using either in store pick-up OR take advantage of Nordstrom’s amazing free shipping/free return policy. I do not have a Nordstrom location in my town, so I love the second option.
Here are the rest of my PRO TIPS.
- Mark your calendar. If you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you get to shop early. Set an alarm for 12:30PM, take your lunch break, and start shopping. If you are not a cardholder, but want to be, you have until July 4th to sign up in time to receive early access.
- If you are a Nordstrom cardholder, use your personal double points day during this sale! You will get double points on ALL orders you place that day.
- Go through your closet ahead of time and plan what you will be looking for. Make a list. This year, I will be searching for boots, denim, flats for work, Living proof hair products, shirts for JD, and a versatile handbag.
- When you start shopping, if you see something you like BUY IT. These items will sell out. This is not the time to add to cart and return a day later. I typically have up to 10 different orders with 1 item each. This is easy to do because of the FREE shipping. Also, if an item arrives to your house and you don’t like it/it doesn’t fit, you can return it…FOR FREE.
- That brings me to my next Nordstrom Anniversary Sale pro-tip. If an item you love is sold out, keep checking and refreshing your page throughout the duration of the sale. That is because people like me, who overdue it, and buy 3 different sizes of the same, item will be returning them the next day. Items are continuously restocked throughout the sale, so don’t give up hope. I will also try to keep you updated about popular restocks on my Instagram account.
- Shop smart. You do not need to buy everything because you see it online, a blogger is sharing it, etc. Buy only what you need and what you will use. I stay away from trendy items during this sale because I know that more affordable retailers will be releasing their version of the item in a few weeks (I’m looking at you animal prints).
- The Nordstrom Sale is also a great time to stock up on gifts for birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries. I purchased my mom and mother in law beautiful Barefoot Dreams cardigans last year, and got JD a nice leather watch for Christmas.
- A common misconception about this sale is that you have to have $$$ to shop it. Wrong. I am not rich. I save my pennies for this sale every year, and for every designer item, Nordstrom has 10 more affordable items on sale. Some affordable brands I love are Caslon, BP., Leith, Dreamers by Debut, and Halogen. Many items in this sale are under $50! Also, if you are looking for a handbag, Sole Society always has great ones on sale!
- The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale includes beauty and home goods too! There are always good beauty blender kits on sale, and this year I am keeping my eyes peeled for some LivingProof gift sets!
