29 Things
So as of today, September 24, I am 29 years old! I cannot believe that I am so close to 30, most days I don’t feel any older than 25! For my birthday, I thought it would be fun to share 29 things about me. For those of you who are new to following me, welcome! If you have been following me for a while, I hope you can learn something new about me that you didn’t know already!
29 Things About Me
ONE. I was a chemistry major in college.
TWO. Disney World is one of my favorite vacation spots. I have been going since I was a kid, and it never gets old.
THREE. I work full-time as a pediatric surgery/trauma nurse at a local children’s hospital in Upstate, NY. My job is extremely mentally and physically exhausting, but the families and children I work with daily are worth it.
FOUR. If my closet could be 100% free people, madewell, and J.crew I would be totally cool with that
FIVE. I am obsessed with purging my closet. I go through my closet every couple months and sell/donate whatever I feel like I won’t wear next season.
SIX. I hate spending money on shoes and purses. I would much rather spend on clothing and have a couple pairs of neutral shoes and one go-to bag.
SEVEN. JD and I met in college when we were 20 years old. We were working at the same work-study job in the college library.
EIGHT. I was on the dance team in high school and college, and those were hands down the best experiences of my life.
NINE. I have never been to Europe, but we are hoping to go to Italy for our honeymoon in 2019. Any recommendations, send them my way!
TEN. I am a true ‘introvert’. I am most extroverted while I am at work in the hospital, that is definitely where I thrive. Outside of work, I am most comfortable and energized by being home in my own familiar environment.
ELEVEN. I made the decision to start this blog after talking to JD in a brewery about how I wanted to have an outlet for myself while I was finishing my master’s degree.
TWELVE. I absolutely HATE getting my nails done. 90% of the time, my nails are not even painted.
THIRTEEN. I have never lived outside of Upstate, NY.
FOURTEEN. I could eat mexican-style food every day and never get sick of it.
FIFTEEN. I have the worst sweet-tooth and will never turn down dessert.
SIXTEEN. I actually enjoy going to the dentist, its the only doctor’s appointment that I keep consistently on my schedule.
SEVENTEEN. My favorite movie is Remember the Titans. There is something about football, teamwork and comraderie that sucks me in every time.
EIGHTEEN. I am lucky to have had the same best friend since I was in 7th grade.
NINETEEN. I don’t like iced coffee. I drink hot coffee all year round, even if its 100 degrees outside. Iced coffee is like a dessert for me, so when I get it, I order it with some kind of sweet flavoring.
TWENTY. I have seen all of the seasons of Friends and The Office at least 5 times. I fall asleep to one of those shows every night.
TWENTY-ONE. Mine and JD’s birthdays are only three days apart. I can’t imagine celebrating my birthday without him anymore.
TWENTY-TWO. When I was in college, my roommates and I went to the MTV spring break hotel in Mexico, and it was actually one of the funniest experiences of my life.
TWENTY-THREE. I don’t wear jeans in my house. As soon as I get home I change into sweatpants or leggings.
TWENTY-FOUR. Yard work and folding laundry are the bane of my existence.
TWENTY-FIVE. I still use a paper planner, I have no idea how people use their phones or computers for scheduling. I actually feel more disorganized and forget things when I tried to do that.
TWENTY-SIX. I absolutely loathe wedding planning. I just want to get to the party and marry my best friend!
TWENTY-SEVEN. My current style inspiration is Rachel Green from Friends.
TWENTY-EIGHT. JD And I have lived in our house for two years and we have one full room of unpacked boxes. I am still unsure if we will unpack these (help!).
TWENTY-NINE. The only food I refuse to eat is mayonnaise.
So there ya have it! That was a lot of things about me, and I hope you all learned something new! Thank you all so much for your love and support on my blog and instagram. This has been such an incredible experience, and I am so excited for all of the things to come in year 29! I am confident this is going to be my best year yet!
